Greetings reader, and welcome! This site has been created to further the cause of Shining Only, which only really exists in the UK at present, but will hopefully spread out someday. It shall also chronicle the various meet ups that go on and provide information on upcoming meetings, with the hope that interest and participation will increase.

Shining Only was a small annual gathering and mini-convention mainly devoted to the Shining series that was held in Japan from around 1997 to 2007 (sadly no more are planned to be held in the near future). For the most part it was a place where fans would sell Shining series related articles (and also some similar series, such as other Climax and Camelot games), such as doujinshi (fan-made comics) and wares (such as home-made figurines, posters and even more obscure items like fans and tarot cards). Afterwards, many attendees and organisers would go for a meal, drink and social chat.

Since their conclusion in Japan, we decided to start holding our own version in the UK. As we’ve only recently started running our own and so far have only had a couple of meetings, it is still very small, but we hope one day to be able to have something as grand as – or maybe even grander than – those held in Japan!
