Hi all,

I know this is fairly close to the time, but due to some folks’s unavailability and/or fund issues, it’s pretty much gone down that the Christmas meet (planned for either the 5th or 12th of December) won’t be happening as planned.

Rather than hold it early in December, we’re going to be pushing it back to the start of January, either on Sunday the 3rd or Saturday the 9th of January; I’m already aware that some people – myself inluded – may have problems with one or the other of these dates, but we want to get a meet in that Alpha can attend before he moves abroad, and these seem to be the only viable dates before then.

A good (GMT) evening to all! I proudly present the Shining Only UK website to you, now as a subdomain of Shining Force Central itself! The move was swift thanks to the beauty of WordPress. In addition to this, Swalchy has been working for hours (with me offering criticisms and design ideas) coding the new theme that you can see.

A big thanks therefore to Moogie, for the use of some of her webspace and art skills (the head banner was done by her), and to Swalchy for his PHP, XHTML & CSS work. That’s all for now, stay tuned!

Hi everyone,

First of all, a quick thank you message to all the folks who came along the Liverpool meet earlier in the month, ’twas a blast. Hopefully Alpha can pop the photos into the media section sooner or later.

Now the main headline – we’re planning on getting another meet in before the end of the year, back at The Willow Walk near London Victoria. We’re still confirming a date, but chances are it’ll be one of the first three Saturdays of December (i.e. the 5th, 12th or 19th). Any folks wanting to come along but have preferences on which dates they can make it to are welcome to leave comments.

Well, all, here’s the info you’ve been waiting for! We have decided the location our next meeting will be held at. It’s the Ship & Mitre Pub in Liverpool.  See its website here: http://www.shipandmitre.co.uk/

The easier way to get there is from Moorfield, if you’re coming from Merseyside trains, or Liverpool Lime Street station for everywhere else.

We’ll be aiming to get there mid afternoon, and stay until the evening I expect.  Hope to see you there!

Thought we should let you know just when and where the next Shining Only UK meet is planned.

We’ve pretty much confirmed that we will be meeting on Saturday 5th September; whilst we haven’t fully decided on an exact location, we’ll be meeting in Liverpool – probably a decent pub that’s somewhere close to the station. As for times, we’re working on the basis of early afternoon until whatever time those of us who are stopping in Liverpool attempt to find our way to whatever lodgings we’ve booked. Folks are welcome to arrive later in the day or leave earlier if necessary – being able to turn up is the main thing, even if you can’t stop for the whole afternoon.

What will we be doing, I hear you ask? For the most part, it’ll probably be a general social meet and chat, as many of us will be meeting in person for the first time. You’re welcome to bring along any Shining series bits and pieces as a sort of “show and tell” – I’ll be bringing along some of the doujins and bits that I got from the Japan Shining Onlys and have been bringing to the London meets. You’re also welcome to make and sell/give away your own fan-made Shining wares. And I’ll also throw in that it doesn’t have to be Shining related, though it is preferred – the name is meant to be Shining Only!

Once we’ve confirmed the details, they’ll be posted on the official meetings page.

Just a generic info-post. Pages and content are being set up, hopefully to be updated quite often. Watch not only this space, but the accompanying pages!

The site appearance may change from time to time – nothing to worry about. We’ll just be testing layouts and such. The eventual hope too is to have a custom, ‘Shining’ layout. That’s all for now. Watch this space!
